Searching for Volunteers: The Collected Works of William Mistele

Every now and then, a spiritual writer passes away and the world loses access to some of their unpublished or obscure writings. This has already happened at least twice in our very own Bardon tradition. The first was when Bardon himself passed away and some of his writings outside of his famous three books were lost, at least for a time. The second was when Rawn Clark passed away in 2024 and his unpublished writings were lost in the aftermath..

William Mistele has produced numerous writings relating to all aspects of Hermetics. While many of these writings can currently be easily accessed via his website or purchased in book form, a large number of his writings are either completely unpublished or can only be found in obscure areas of the internet. Also, many of his writings can only be found on Facebook, which will not be around forever, especially considering that younger generations are flocking to other social media sites like TikTok and Instagram.

With all of this in mind, those of us who find value in the writings of William Mistele wish to ensure that all of his writings will be preserved and easily accessible to future generations. To do this, we will be creating a “Collected Works of William Mistele” series of volumes. The idea is similar to The Collected Works of C.G. Jung or The Collected Works of Chogyam Trungpa, for those who are familiar with those other collections of writings. To produce these volumes, we will collect together all of William’s writings, categorize them by subject, and publish them in such a way that each volume contains a category of writings.

Many tasks will need to be completed in order to produce these volumes. Since William has produced tens of thousands of pages of writings, an enormous number of essays, Facebook posts, unpublished manuscripts, and correspondences need to be sorted through, added to our records, categorized, and eventually compiled together and formatted. Each volunteer chosen for this project will be given a task. It is difficult to say how long the tasks will take, since there are different types of tasks, but each one will likely take at least several hours. We hope to have enough volunteers such that each one will only need to take care of one task.

This project will not just consist of volunteers working in isolation. For the duration of the project, there will be a Discord server so that volunteers can converse with each other and assist each other. In other words, volunteers will also be part of a community. However, this will not be just another community of Bardonists, since there are already many of this on the internet. It will be a community specifically for those who value William’s unique understanding of Bardon’s Hermetics and seek to collaborate with like-hearted (but not necessarily like-minded) individuals. Via the server, community members will be able to support each other in exploring William’s writings and working through IIH. The server will be run by William and Virgil. It’s our hope that with direct 24/7 access to William and Virgil to answer questions, and with the support of one’s fellow community members, all members of the community will also make significant progress through IIH throughout the course of this project.

While we want this community to be open to all interested, we need to ensure that everyone involved is at least sane, amicable, and has a genuine interest in William’s writings. Therefore, some amount of screening is necessary. Filling out the form linked at the end of this page does not guarantee an invitation to join the project.

Compensation 

Monetary compensation will not be provided to volunteers helping with this project. However, as an expression of gratitude, all volunteers will be gifted a copy of a book by Virgil on using Vajrayana practices to exponentially accelerate one’s progress through IIH. There is much interest in Vajrayana amongst Bardonists, but do to the advanced and profound nature of Vajrayana spirituality, it is difficult to understand and misinformation about it is rampant in the Bardon world. This book is the first accurate and truly helpful treatise on Vajrayana and Hermetics ever written. It will not be made available for purchase by the general public, and only available for the eyes of the volunteers helping with this project.
